Joint networking event to celebrate International Women’s Day, encourage more diverse industry
Automechanika Birmingham and Women Automotive Network will jointly host a free in-person networking drinks reception on Thursday 7 March. The event welcomes all automotive professionals and targets the creation of a support network for women in the industry. The event recognises the need to plug the current skills shortage, showcasing a progressive industry. Forecasts suggest that there will be a significant shortfall in the skills needed to service an evolving car parc, particularly technicians qualified to work safely and competently on electric vehicles. Pirelli: F1 teams ‘working hard’ to reduce overheating’ in new cars as Ferrari goes fastest
Pirelli revealed that Formula 1’s teams worked hard on “adapting the new cars to the tyres” in the final pre-season Formula 1 test in Bahrain, focusing on the prevention of overheating. 19 drivers from all the teams completed several long runs, supplying plenty of data to analyse in preparation the 2024, which commences on 29 February at the same circuit.
