Rain, snow or shine – Auto Bild Sportscars tests 10 winter tyres
In its latest test, Auto Bild Sportscars fits ten brands of winter tyre in the size 235/35 R19 on a BMW M135i to assess their performance across a range of conditions. Testers Henning Klipp and Dierk Möller encountered significant progress in winter tyre technology, particularly in snow and ice performance, but their testing but also highlighted ongoing challenges for some brands of winter tyre in wet and dry conditions.

Both the petrol and electric versions of the all-new Dodge Charger and Challenger muscle cars will wear all-season Nexen NFera AU7 tyres. Al-Nasr SC, the Saudi Arabia football team famous for signing Christiano Ronaldo, has confirmed that Nexen Tire has agreed “a significant sponsorship deal” with the team. The deal sees Nexen becoming the official shirt sponsor for Al-Nasr Club’s first team during the 2024-2025 season. In addition, through the partnership, Nexen will “engage in various marketing initiatives, including LED and digital billboard advertisements in the stadium, logo branding, and collaborative marketing efforts”. The NTDA announced its 2024 Tyre Industry Awards winners on the evening of 10 October during the association’s sold-out 95th Annual Dinner, sponsored by long-term partner Maritime Cargo Services, in Milton Keynes. The awards ceremony was sponsored for the 10th consecutive year by tyre manufacturer Sailun, and co-hosted, by international ventriloquist, comedian and TV personality Paul Zerdin. The big winners on the night were Lodge Tyre Company, which scooped the overall retailer and staff training and development prizes, and Kirkby Tyres, which prevailed in both the wholesaler and truck and agri tyre distributor categories. Tyrepress, attending the dinner, published the winners as they were announced on X, formerly Twitter.
