Testing, consulting, information, and compliance services firm Smithers has, together with tyre and vehicle development technology specialist Stackpole Engineering Services, debuted the Virtual Tire Lab. Announcing the launch, Smithers describes Virtual Tire Lab as a “unique, comprehensive toolset for analysing raw data and comparing, contrasting, and adjusting virtual tyre models for use in design analysis, simulation, and model certification.”

Sumitomo Rubber reports strong Q1 2024 profit growth
Sumitomo Rubber Industries (SRI) reports a 5.3 per cent year-on-year increase in sales revenue during the quarter ending 31 March 2024, to ¥291,360 million (£1,482.03 million). Business profit surged by 190.7 per cent to ¥23,183 million (£118.04 million), operating profit rose by 166.5 per cent to ¥20,696 million (£105.31 million) and profit attributable to owners of the parent jumping by 520.2 per cent to ¥24,841 million (£126.47 million).

The Yokohama Rubber Co., Ltd., today disclosed its business and financial results for the first quarter of the fiscal year 2024. Sales revenue saw a year-on-year increase of 23.5 per cent between January and March 2024, amounting to ¥252.4 billion (£1.3 billion); business profit rose by 91.0 per cent, reaching ¥24.9 billion (£127.4 million); operating profit surged by 102.6 per cent, to ¥26.8 billion (£137.2 million); and profit attributable to owners of parent escalated by 104.0 per cent, to ¥19.8 billion (£101.4 million).
