Ecurie Ecosse and McLaren in British GT alliance
The Ecurie Ecosse team has joined forces with McLaren for its assault on the British GT Championship in 2016. With a heritage that dates back to wins at Le Mans in the 1950s, Ecurie Ecosse will field a McLaren 650S GT3 in British GT, which will be exclusively supplied by Pirelli from the coming season in a new multi-year deal.

The Mexico City ePrix saw the Michelin Pilot Sport EV face a very different challenge of competing around a permanent circuit, instead of at a temporary city-centre facility, as has been the case since the inaugural Formula E race in Beijing, in September 2014. Previous venues have ranged from street tracks to public parks (as in London) and airfield runways (Berlin), but Mexico City chose the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez and in the infield of a baseball stadium to stage its round of the FIA Formula E Championship.

Brian McCormack, an 11-time bike racing champion, is switching to Bridgestone tyres for the first time, after Aidan Lynam – who died in an accident during a charity bike ride for Down Syndrome Ireland in May – had pushed him to make the decision for many months. The 32 year-old Waterford star will change from a formula that has served him well for years, opting for the manufacturer’s Battlax V02 Slicks.

The first official pre-season tests of the 2016 FIM Superbike World Championship got underway today in Phillip Island, Australia. Pirelli is supplying a total of four dry solutions (two front and two rear) for today and tomorrow’s tests, as well as intermediate and wet tyres should they be needed. The Supersport category receives two front and two rear solutions for dry conditions, plus intermediate and wet tyres.
