Pirelli bringing new wet GT tyre into second DTM season
Pirelli has evolved its Cinturato WHB to develop a new wet weather tyre for Gran Turismo cars that is “completely renewed in design and optimised in its main performance features.” The tyre maker will provide the tyre for all GT championships in which it is involved, beginning with the start of this year’s DTM and ADAC GT Masters championship, which Pirelli is serving as sole tyre supplier for a second season.

The 24 Heures Motos at Le Mans opened the 2024 FIM Endurance World Championship (EWC) season in mid-April. The race offered more success for the Dunlop brand at the famous French circuit, as the tyre supplier shod 35 of the 48 teams that entered. Using the Dunlop tyres, the BMW Motorrad World Endurance Team took the second podium step overall, while Dunlop Superstock winner, National Motos Honda, finished in P5 overall. The fastest laps were set towards the end of stints, demonstrating enduring tyre performance in demanding conditions, Dunlop said.

The Yokohama Rubber Co., Ltd., has entered into a partnership agreement with Mercedes-AMG Customer Racing’s Haupt Racing Team (HRT), under which it will supply Yokohama Advan racing tyres to the Mercedes-AMG GT3 that HRT enters into the Nürburgring 24-Hour Race and Nürburgring Langstrecken Serie (NLS). In dry conditions, the car will wear Advan A005 racing tyres in 300/680R18 (front) and 330/710R18 (rear), and in the wet will compete on Advan A006 tyres.
