Pirelli, Porsche Club of America renew agreement for 3 more years
Pirelli will continue and enhance its support of Porsche Club of America over the next three years, having renewed its agreement with the world’s largest organisation for the brand’s enthusiasts. The club, which has more than 130,000 members in 145 North American regions, cited Pirelli’s status as an original equipment supplier to Porsche as a major component of its decision to continue the agreement.

A Tamworth based manufacturer of high-performance brake components for the motorsport and performance vehicle market has secured a £3 million finance package from HSBC UK to fund new state-of-the-art machinery to boost production. Alcon has used the funding to purchase five Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machines as well as a noise, vibration and harshness (NVH) dynamometer.

Michelin is to become the title sponsor for the 2019 Ginetta Junior Championship as part of a five-year extension to the decade-long partnership between the tyre manufacturer and Ginetta. Michelin will remain the sole tyre supplier for all five of Ginetta’s domestic single marque championships until the end of 2023 under the latest deal. Michelin has been the title sponsor of the Ginetta GT4 SuperCup since its inception in 2008.

Pirelli’s global motorsport partnership with promoter SRO Motorsports Group has been strengthened with the arrival of the Blancpain GT World Challenge in 2019. The global championship brings together the Pirelli World Challenge in USA alongside the other GT sprint series promoted by SRO throughout Europe and Asia. This brings the total number of SRO competitions supplied by Pirelli up to 12. Pirelli will also become the headline sponsor of the new Pirelli GT4 America series, with 36 cars homologated, 20 of which are brand new models.
