In May, Yokohama officially completed the acquisition of Trelleborg Wheel Systems. As a result, the well-respected off-highway tyre and wheel manufacturer rebranded as Yokohama TWS. With any acquisition, questions of integration are front-and-centre. In Yokohama’s case, the previous acquisition of Alliance Tire Group, which now runs under the Yokohama Off-Highway Tires (YOHT) banner, brings with it further questions relating to the integration of the businesses and their respective brand portfolios as well as how the different operations will be organised and practically structured in relation to one another. When the new Serie B season begins later this week, the tyre maker will return at main sponsor and again be present on players’ shirts. Hankook expands Chongqing factory’s TBR tyre capacity
Recently, Hankook stated that it would carry out technical transformation on the TBR production line of the Chongqing factory. Specifically, the tyre manufacturer plans to invest 47 million yuan (about £5.1 million; €5.9 million) to increase the daily production capacity of TBR from 2,560 to 2,960 (annual production capacity from 900,000 to 1.036 million) within 16 months. Hankook says the project will not add new land and will be built in its existing factory workshop.
