Carter-Cash retires Yakarouler retail portal
More than two years after its acquisition of insolvent online retailer Yakarouler, French tyre and automotive parts firm Carter-Cash has merged the Yakarouler business with its own. As of 1 September 2023, visitors to the Yakarouler.com site are encouraged to make their purchases via Carter-cash.com.

A team of 40 riders drawn from across the transport and logistics sector have completed a 187-mile cycle ride from London to Paris to raise funds for Transaid’s work in sub-Saharan Africa, which is focused on improving road safety and access to health for rural communities. Upon reaching the French capital on 24 September the group had already raised more than £65,000 before costs, with fresh sponsorships still coming in. This has been aided by generous funding from headline sponsor uTrack Software, and support sponsor DP World.

Pantyukhov, now chief executive officer of Tatneft-owned business Ikon Tyres, claims “the only difference is the name.”

The Cameroon Tires Factory (CTF) project, as it is known, expects to create 2000 and 2500 direct jobs plus as many as 5000 indirect jobs and is being planned in conjunction with Black Donuts.

Production at the Apollo Tyres Ltd. OTR tyre factory in Limda, India has “fully resumed” after being stopped by industrial action, the tyre maker reported on 24 September. Apollo Tyres had announced on 20 September that tyre making at the Limda plant in had stopped due to “certain concerns amongst shop floor employees” relating to the renewal of a long-term settlement agreement.

The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company approved “a rationalization plan in Asia Pacific to improve profitability in its Australia and New Zealand operations” on 19 September 2023. The plan exits 100 retail and fleet locations and nine warehouses at the cost of 700 jobs. In other words, it changes the company’s operating model to a third-party distribution and retail sales model instead of a company-owned approach. That specifically means moves such as the recent appointment of National Tyre & Wheel Limited (National) as the exclusive distributor of the Dunlop tyre brand in Australia and New Zealand.

Bryce Menzies has won the Baja 400 for the third consecutive year in his Toyo Tires equipped Trophy Truck. Menzies previously claimed the Baja 500 and Mexican 1000 Races in 2023. Toyo-equipped trucks won all three trophy truck classes: Gustavo Vildósola Sr secured another victory in the Trophy Truck Legends class, while Jason McNeil claimed top spot in the Trophy Truck Spec class. These successes translate into a commanding lead in championship points across all three Trophy Truck categories this season. Each driver is now poised to begin the upcoming SCORE Baja 1000 race in November from pole position.

Attended by several NBA stars, the event included a 3x3 basketball tournament on a floating court on picturesque Lake Bled, Slovenia. Toyo Tires said it was pleased to partner with Dončić on the launch event; the tyre maker presented its brand to spectators at the match along with the thousands of viewers of the event on the TV and YouTube broadcast.

Global assurance partner audited the facility in May and June 2023 and subsequently verified it according to the international PAS 2060:2014 standard for the year 2022.
