Triangle Tyre appoints new European team
Following Triangle Tyre’s initial public offering (IPO) in 2016 on the Shanghai Stock Exchange, the company has raised capital to drive its business forward. As a result, the Weihai-Shandong based company has initiated a globalization process aimed at increasing its shares in the most strategic markets. This means the establishment of new European Headquarters in Milan, Italy and a newly appointed European team. Triangle Tyre has chosen Corrado Moglia to lead its European growth agenda, as general manager for Europe. Moglia is a tyre veteran with more than 25 years of experience in the industry with Bridgestone, Marangoni and Giti Tire in his career, with his latest position in Giti being managing director for Latin America and Europe.

Bridgestone has won a patent case against Guangzhou-based Wanli Tire. Bridgestones success follows another victory last Septembers this time against Triangle Tyre. According to Nikkier, Bridgestone said the Shanghai Intellectual Property Court in April reached a favourable ruling regarding a patent infringement lawsuit Bridgestone filed in October 2015. The suit alleged Wanli of manufacturing and selling tyres with tread patterns used in Bridgestones Dueler A/T Revo 2 tyres for sports utility vehicles.

This follows the cessation of production back in September 2016 following an announcement last June that that plant would close due to high competition from cheap imported tyres. Linglong recently came out as the leading Chinese brand in a respected tyre test. The recent 2017 Test World summer tyre test, which was conducted by the Finnish Test World team in France, tested 17 tyre products against each other. Linglong Tire won a total score of 8.3 points in the test, ranking in first place among the five Chinese brands involved.
