Jaap van Wessum has been appointed general manager – Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) for Cooper Tire & Rubber Company Europe Ltd. Van Wessum, who joined Cooper in 2016 as director of sales for Europe, is now responsible for growing the broader EMEA business. He is based at Cooper Europe’s headquarters in Melksham, Wiltshire, and is part of the international management team of Luis Ceneviz, Cooper’s senior vice president & managing director – EMEA and Managing Director – Latin America.

Hamaton Ltd has announced plans to launch a new three-in-one replacement valve. This innovative TPMS valve is designed to fit both of Schrader’s parallel (‘6-207’) and right-angled (‘6-210’) fitments, as well as accommodating for the high-speed version of the valve (‘6-210H’). Therefore, the new 6-213B combined valve not only benefits from a high-speed rating, but also has nearly double the compatibility with direct TPMS-enabled vehicles.

Kraiburg Austria is reports that another nine designs from the retreading specialist have successfully passed the 3PMSF test and are therefore approved as winter retreads with immediate effect. These are: K16, K26, K43, K45, K50, K51, K203, K204, K213. The tests were conducted by the Prüflabor Nord in January and February. As a result of the test a total of 29 Kraiburg patterns can be labelled with the 3PMSF pictogram.

Goodyear named Girteka Logistics’ main tyre partner
Girteka Logistics has chosen Goodyear as its main tyre partner for the 4,000 trucks and 4,300 trailers it operates on its pan-European freight services. Under this partnership, Goodyear tyres will be supplied to cover 80 per cent of the fleet’s requirements. Girteka operates two and three axle tractor units and mainly refrigerated tri-axle trailers, along with a growing number of tilt trailers.
