European businesses need certainty – ETRMA on EUDR postponement
Tomorrow, the European Parliament will vote on a proposed amendment to the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) that would postpone its date of entry into application from 30 December 2024 to 30 December 2025, and until 30 June 2026 for small and micro-enterprises, and delay the benchmarking deadline to 30 June 2025. The European Tyre and Rubber Manufacturers Association (ETRMA) warns against this postponement.

Hainan Rubber receives multiple insurance payouts
After negotiating with its insurance company, Hainan Rubber has received partial rubber income insurance compensation of 30 million yuan (about £3.2 million; €3.9 million) prepaid by the other party. Hainan Rubber said actual rubber income was lower than the target income due to the super typhoon Makar in September 2024, triggering the insurance payment conditions.

Nexen Tire hosts further InnoForums across Europe
Nexen has hosted its 7th InnoForum for one of the biggest Polish tyre dealers. This event took place at the tyremaker’s plant in the Czech Republic. The company plans to hold two more Nexen InnoForums across Europe this year. Nexen started this format of dealer conference in March 2024.

Yokohama Tire will fit Advan A005 slicks at Porsche Endurance Challenge North America Finale
Yokohama Tire will complete the 2024 Porsche Endurance Challenge North America series in Austin, Texas when it fits its Advan A005 slicks exclusively to the grid. The one-make racing event takes place on 22-23 November at Circuit of The Americas (COTA), closing the four-race inaugural season with a six-hour finale following three 60-minute races. For this six-hour event, teams of two to three drivers compete for class wins in a Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport or a 911 GT3 Cup (Type 992) race car. A coveted overall series championship is also at stake for the stacked field of drivers.

Anyline’s tyre sidewall scanner and tread reader solutions deployed at 480 Sun Auto Tire locations
Anyline has announced a partnership with US tyre retailer Sun Auto Tire & Service, under which the company will integrate Anyline’s Tire Sidewall Scanner and Tire Tread Reader technology across its 480 domestic market retail locations. Anyline said the partnership would help elevate data-backed communication and strengthen customer relationships.

Mazda CX-80 fits Yokohama Advan V61
Yokohama is supplying its Advan V61 tyres as original equipment (OE) to Mazda Motor Corporation for use on the automaker’s new crossover SUV, the Mazda CX-80, sales of which will be launched in Japan, Australia, New Zealand and other countries in October 2024. The tyre sizes are 235/60R18 103V and 235/60R18 107V.
