ISO 50001:2018 for SRI facility in Turkey
Sumitomo Rubber Industries (SRI) reports that its tyre factory in Turkey has gained ISO 50001:2018 certification for its energy management system. The Sumitomo Rubber AKO Lastik Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş. facility in Çankırı, which produces passenger and light commercial vehicle tyres under the Falken and Dunlop brand names, is the third factory in the Sumitomo Rubber Group to obtain ISO 50001 certification, following the previous certification of factories in China (Changshu) and Brazil.

Pyrum to set up JV pyrolysis plant
German pyrolysis end-of-life tyre recycling specialist Pyrum Innovations AG has established a joint venture to build and operate a pyrolysis plant in Straubing, Bavaria. Together with a trio of partners, it will establish Revalit GmbH, a recycling plant with a capacity to process 20,000 tonnes of tyres per annum. Pyrum holds a 25 per cent share in the joint venture, as do Munich-based firms MCapital GmbH, Textor GmbH and Auer Holding GmbH. The plan is to have the facility operational by 2024.
