MEPs car emissions enquiry moves into second half
The European Parliament’s car emissions inquiry urgently needs more information from the EU Commission, it says in a recent resolution. Half-way through its mandate, the Committee of Inquiry into Emission Measurements in the Automotive Sector (EMIS), has yet to receive some Commission documents on emission measurements and details of expert group work on vehicle type approval procedures, notes the text. The inquiry’s final report is due in spring 2017.

West Midlands-based Prospect Coaches has switched its fleet to a Michelin tyre policy after receiving “above and beyond” support from the Michelin technical team. Prior to adopting the new policy, the company fitted trial sets of Michelin X MultiWay 3D regional tyres; the company switched manufacturers before performance data had been recorded as a result of the tyre manufacturer’s customer service.

On Friday, Michelin will officially inaugurate its new research and development centre in Ladoux, France. The tyre maker laid the foundation stone for the facility in December 2013 and is investing approximately €280 million in erecting a state-of-the-art, 67,000 square metre building and, from 2018, employing 1,700 new engineers and technicians.
