KPMG has appointed Ed Thomas as its UK head of transport with immediate effect. Thomas joined the firm as a graduate in 1995 and was promoted to partner in 2013. He has been central to KPMG’s transport advisory business since he joined. Specialising in rail, he has led both policy reviews for Government and bidding engagements for the private sector in the UK. With a wide international grasp of the sector, Ed has also led rail projects in North America and Southeast Asia. Beyond rail, he advises public sector transport authorities on the funding of new infrastructure.
Goodyear appoints chief marketing, digital officers for North America consumer business
The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company has appointed Mike Dwyer as chief marketing officer and Mike Dauberman as chief digital officer in its North America consumer business. Both appointments are effective immediately; both will report to Scott Rogers, who was recently named president, North America consumer.
The Pelmar Group has appointed Enrique Guix to the position of sales director EMEA. Guix takes on the role on top of his responsibility for the South and Central America market, effective from 1 September 2017. Guix will report directly to Robert Adam, managing director of Pelmar Germany, which has become the hub of all Pelmar Engineering European activity.
Lesley Dalziel, previously group finance director, has been promoted to the position of chief financial officer (CFO) for Axle Group Holdings Ltd (which incorporates National Tyres and Autocare and Viking Wholesale Tyres).
After 10 years as a board member, including five years as chairman, Trelleborg AB’s Sören Mellstig, has declared that he is not available for re-election. The nomination committee has therefore today decided to propose to the Annual General Meeting 2018, the election of current director, Hans Biörck, as chairman of the board.
Bridgestone’s Franco Annunziato elected president of ETRMA
The board of directors of the European Tyre and Rubber Manufacturers’ Association (ETRMA), today elected Bridgestone EMEA’s vice president and senior advisor Franco Annunziato as president of the association. At the same meeting, Thierry du Granrut, from the Syndicat National du Caoutchouc et des Polymères, was confirmed as vice president for a second term. Both terms are effective as of 1 January 2018 for a three-year mandate. This is the first time that Bridgestone has held the presidency of the European association.
ZF Services UK appoints new product support engineer
ZF Services UK has appointed a new product support engineer responsible for driving forward its technical support and mentoring.
Simon Ackroyd has been appointed to the role, and will oversee training for its customer base and partners in the UK. Simon has worked with the ZF family since 2002, First with Hindle group as a workshop engineer before later progressing into a technical manager role with powertrain products Ltd. Altogether, he has more than 15 years’ automotive industry experience working with ZF.
The Original founder of Euro Car Parts, Sukhpal Singh Ahluwalia, has extended his contract with the business, as executive chairman of LKQs operations in the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland. Ahluwalia is also a member of LKQ Corporation’s board of directors.
ZC Rubber names Ákos Barcsik as field engineer manager
ZC Rubber has named Ákos Barcsik as its new field engineer manager, who will work from Zhongce Europe GmbH (ZC Europe) and provide targeted service for the European market.
Prior to joining ZC Rubber, Ákos Barcsik served as national field engineer manager for 9 years at Bridgestone East Europe. “Europe is an important market to ZC Rubber in its global business map. We are pleased to work with Ákos Barcsik and achieve the company’s goals in European market together”, company representatives said in a statement.
Toyo USA promotes Roy Bromfield to president and CEO
Toyo Tire U.S.A. Corp. (TTC) has promoted Roy Bromfield to president and chief executive officer. In this role, he is responsible for all product categories of Toyo-branded business in the US replacement market.
Starting 9 September, Jorge Nogueira is chief executive officer of Arlanxeo. He succeeds Jan Paul de Vries, who has left the synthetic rubber manufacturer to “seek a new professional challenge.” Prior to his appointment as CEO, Nogueira headed the company’s Tire & Specialty Rubbers (TSR) business unit, and he been a member of the Arlanxeo Executive Board since the joint venture was founded in April 2016.
Higgins, Ferrari appointed to chair Bridgestone Europe, Americas
As of 1 January 2018, Thomas Higgins will take over as chairman of Bridgestone Europe NV/SA, succeeding Eduardo Minardi in this position. Higgins will also become a senior officer of Bridgestone Corporation and will retain his role as president of Bridgestone Americas’ US & Canada Consumer Tire Sales Division.
The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company has named Chris Delaney as president of Goodyear’s Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) business unit. He has been president of the company’s Asia Pacific business since joining the company in 2015.
Bickers appoints new area sales manager for Scotland and Northern England
Tim Brett is the latest recruit to join the team of area sales managers at parts and accessories distributor, Bickers. With 28 years working in the motorcycle industry, Brett is set to hit the ground running.
Brett was previously part of the Bickers team between 2011 and 2015. After two years away, he has returned having seen the rebrand that Bickers set in motion at the start of the year. He will be the key point of contact for both new and existing customers across the North of England and Scotland with, while being supported by the Bickers team based in Felixstowe.
