Two new members join IAAF council
The Independent Automotive Aftermarket Federation (IAAF) has announced that two new members have joined the IAAF council, increasing its pool of experienced industry professionals to further strengthen its ranks. The council, a voluntary group of aftermarket individuals that come together regularly to debate industry issues and IAAF policy, welcomes both Kevin Kelly, sales director at Bosch and Chris Chapman, head of sales at Moove Lubricants.

Jean-Dominique Senard has confirmed he doesn’t wish to stand for re-election upon the expiry of his current term as Michelin’s chief executive officer. This means he will step down at the close of the tyre maker’s 2019 Annual Shareholders Meeting, and Michelin is implementing a succession plan that will see Florent Menegaux take his place.

M M Auto Services, a Dingbro Ltd customer and member of the Servicesure Autocentre network, has received Car Leasing Bargain’s ‘Outstanding Achievement Award’ for the second year in a row. The award recognises its innovative approach to vehicle sales. Owner Murdo MacIntosh decided to diversify the aftermarket independent business by selling new cars. The Dundee garage sold 38 vehicles through its ‘virtual forecourt’ in the past year, covering vehicles from a range of 11 different manufacturers.

Working in partnership with diagnostics specialist Hella, the one-day course aims to help repairers understand how to service and calibrate camera and radar-based Advanced Driver Assist Systems. The intermediate course is the only one of its kind to be accredited by the IMI Quality Assurance Programme.

Effective today, Dr Jörg Stratmann is chief executive officer of automotive supplier Mahle. He succeeds Wolf-Henning Scheider, who today becomes chief executive officer of automotive supplier ZF Friedrichshafen. Scheider takes the place of Dr Konstantin Sauer, who’d held the position on a temporary basis since Dr Stefan Sommer stepped down with immediate effect in December 2017.

The Board of Directors of Cooper Tire & Rubber Company has elected Jerry Bialek to serve as vice-president and treasurer. Bialek’s appointment takes effect 1 February 2018 and will be in addition to his leadership of Cooper Tire’s investor relations. He replaces Tom Lause as treasurer following the latter’s retirement from Cooper Tire on 31 January.

Fast fitters from ETS’s 14 Midlands sales depots were nominated for the prestigious award and the hopeful contestants were whittled down to a shortlist of 10. Finally, one overall winner was crowned the official Technician Of The Year.
