CEO named for European finTyre Distribution’s German businesses
Following on from last week’s announcement of the respective appointments of Michael Schwöbel und Michael Borchert as chief financial officer and chief commercial officer, London-based platform company European finTyre Distribution has announced the hiring of a new chief executive officer for its recently-acquired operations in Germany. As of 15 November, Claudio Passerini has taken on this role at European finTyre Distribution Germany Holding GmbH, Reiff Reifen und Autotechnik GmbH and tyre1 GmbH & Co. KG.

Activity in the original equipment segment currently accounts for no more than 20 per cent of Alliance Tire Group’s business in Europe, however the company intends to change this. In order to place a greater emphasis on supply to OEMs, ATG has set up a dedicated original equipment team. The new OEM team is headed by Andreas Sarfert, who in April was named ATG’s head of business development OE Europe. ATG introduced Sarfert and the team during the Agritechnica show this week.

The completion of this transaction has now been followed by the naming of a new leadership team for this business. As of 7 November, Michael Schwöbel is the new chief financial officer of European finTyre Distribution Germany Holding. On 15 November, he will be joined by Michael Borchert, who has been appointed chief commercial officer.

This kind of maturity is generally taken to mean low growth markets that are already well developed. Here markets are significant in size and 1 to 2 per cent growth per annum is normal. In a statement, Pirelli has thanked Schwöbel for the contribution made during a 34-career with the tyre maker, including management positions at Pirelli Deutschland GmbH since 2000.
