Michelin opens applications for apprenticeship programme
Michelin has opened applications for the five trainee places available in its 2019 intake, with roles available in engineering and business administration in Stoke-on-Trent. Michelin’s apprenticeship programme was launched in 1927. The tyre manufacturer states that it “underpins the culture of the company overall, providing a springboard for trainees to start their careers through a tailored mix of training and work experience.”

As part of previously-announced structural changes, Continental has merged several of its replacement truck tyre functions in the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region. The Conti360° Fleet Services business, which includes ContiPressureCheck and ContiConnect, has been brought together with the ContiLifeCycle business, comprising retreading and casing management services, to form the Fleet Solutions department. Ralf Benack is heading up this department as Director Fleet Solutions.

Senior management changes at Yokohama Rubber
The board of Yokohama Rubber Co. Ltd. has announced several changes to the company’s senior management, including the promotion of Gota Matsuo to chief financial officer. These changes are expected to take effect on 28 March. The tyre and rubber products manufacturer also shares that former chief executive officer Tadanobu Nagumo will retire as chairman and member of the board at this time; he will continue to work with Yokohama Rubber in the capacity of senior advisor. Nagumo’s successor as chairman has yet to be announced.
