NTDA announces 2019 Tyre Industry Awards finalists
The NTDA has announced the finalists for its 2019 Tyre Industry Awards. The awards, sponsored by tyre manufacturer Sailun, will be presented at the association’s 90th Annual Dinner on Thursday 3 October at the International Convention Centre (ICC) Birmingham. The dinner is sponsored by tyre wholesaler Land Tyre Service, while the awards will be hosted by popular TV comedian Mark Watson. The 2019 finalists include former award winners, finalists, and some new nominees.

Melett has promoted Darren Johnson to the role of head of sales having previously occupied the position of sales manager. Johnson has been with the company since 2012, having first joined as a sales engineer for UK, Ireland, Scandinavia and the Netherlands. In just over a year, he became sales manager, and was the role for more than six years.

Yukio Hasegawa has been named the new president of Toyo Tire Corporation’s subsidiary in Russia, effective tomorrow. He succeeds Kenta Kuribayashi in this role. Kuribayashi remains chief executive officer of the Toyo Tire RUS LLC operation (and president of Toyo Tire Europe GmbH) and will additionally, as of tomorrow, become the Russian subsidiary’s chairman.

Vaculug’s Christine Bartlett retires today, following 48 years’ service. Bartlett joined Vaculug in September 1970 as a lithographic printer, creating and printing all paperwork and price lists both internally and for the company’s 23 depots throughout England. She then moved into the position of stationery buyer, responsible for coordinating internal stationary requirements and liaising with depots.
