CAM appoints Mark Styles to board of directors
CAM has appointed Mark Styles to its board of directors. Styles brings with him 20 years’ experience in a global tyre network and “his ecommerce skills are second to none”, according to CAM. Commenting on the appointment, Mike Allen, managing director of CAM said: “[Mark’s] expertise and innovation will be instrumental in helping us deliver our exciting new portfolio of online sales products.”

According to an internal memo that has been circulating since the end of last week, he will leave the French tyre maker at his own request on 1 June 2022. 19-year-old Cameron Palmer from Ashbourne, Derbyshire, has been crowned the 2022 Halfords BTCC Apprentice of the Year competition winner. Cameron, who is a Level Three apprentice and has been based at the Wyvern Halfords Autocentre in Derby for the past six months, fought off competition from apprentices all over the country to come out on top.

On 18 April, the Board of Directors at Bridgestone Corporation decided to strengthen the company’s global management structure by appointing two joint global chief operating officers. Paolo Ferrari will join Masahiro Higashi, who has served as Bridgestones global chief operating officer since July 2020, in this capacity on 1 May 2022. Both report to Shu Ishibashi, Bridgestone Corporation’s global chief executive officer. Ferrari’s remit will expand to include responsibility for Bridgestone’s business in Europe.

Apollo Tyres has appointed Guido Boerkamp director of its Off-Highway Tyres (OHT) division. Boerkamp joined the company (then known as Vredestein) in 1995 as a product specialist for agricultural and industrial tyres. He subsequently worked as product manager, business development manager and head of product group, before leading Apollo Tyres’ European OHT R&D division. Boerkamp succeeds Ruud Nijland who is retiring after over a decade at the company in this position.
