CAM appoints Mark Styles to board of directors
CAM has appointed Mark Styles to its board of directors. Styles brings with him 20 years’ experience in a global tyre network and “his ecommerce skills are second to none”, according to CAM. Commenting on the appointment, Mike Allen, managing director of CAM said: “[Mark’s] expertise and innovation will be instrumental in helping us deliver our exciting new portfolio of online sales products.”

Michelin confirms Maria Röttger as Europe North President & CEO
As reported yesterday, Maria Röttger will succeed Anish K. Taneja as president and chief executive officer of Michelin Europe North, effective 1 June 2022. Michelin shares that Taneja has decided to “move to a new role outside the company.”

On 28 April, Yang Xingqiang resigned from his role of director at Pirelli & C. SpA. The tyre maker says the reason for his resignation, which takes effect with the next Board of Directors meeting on 10 May, is “a recent and unexpected concentration of new personal commitments.”

According to an internal memo that has been circulating since the end of last week, he will leave the French tyre maker at his own request on 1 June 2022. Michelin has also already appointed Taneja’s successor as president and chief executive officer of its Europe North region.

Triple British Touring Car Champion Gordon ‘Flash’ Shedden is set to continue his position as brand ambassador for GS Yuasa. The Shedden/ GS Yuasa partnership is long standing, with the Scottish ace having had the company’s Yuasa or GS brand’s backing since 2011 and claiming three BTCC titles with the Yuasa-sponsored Team Dynamics outfit in 2012, 2015 and 2016. Halfords apprentice of the year joins Halfords racing Cataclean team for season
19-year-old Cameron Palmer from Ashbourne, Derbyshire, has been crowned the 2022 Halfords BTCC Apprentice of the Year competition winner. Cameron, who is a Level Three apprentice and has been based at the Wyvern Halfords Autocentre in Derby for the past six months, fought off competition from apprentices all over the country to come out on top.

Paolo Ferrari joins Higashi as Bridgestone’s Joint Global COO
On 18 April, the Board of Directors at Bridgestone Corporation decided to strengthen the company’s global management structure by appointing two joint global chief operating officers. Paolo Ferrari will join Masahiro Higashi, who has served as Bridgestones global chief operating officer since July 2020, in this capacity on 1 May 2022. Apollo Tyres appoints Boerkamp Off-Highway Tyres director
Apollo Tyres has appointed Guido Boerkamp director of its Off-Highway Tyres (OHT) division. Boerkamp joined the company (then known as Vredestein) in 1995 as a product specialist for agricultural and industrial tyres. He subsequently worked as product manager, business development manager and head of product group, before leading Apollo Tyres’ European OHT R&D division. Boerkamp succeeds Ruud Nijland who is retiring after over a decade at the company in this position.
