Point S names Tony Valentine as fleet manager

Having joined the company in August 2021, Point S Tyre & Autocare has appointed Tony Valentine as fleet manager. Up till now, Valentine has been a business development manager for the network. From here on he takes responsibility for establishing and growing Point S’ presence in the fleet market. This will involve building close relationships with fleet managers and working closely with Point S members to develop “the network’s one-stop shop for fleet service, repair and maintenance”.

Martin Winter appointed ZC Rubber technical director EMEA & Americas

Zhongce Rubber (ZC Rubber) has appointed Martin Winter technical director tire development EMEA & Americas. Winter took up the position on 1 August 2022. He brings with him more than 20 years’ experience of working in original equipment tyre development with Continental, Goodyear, Hankook, and most recently Sentury Tire, where he was global technical director OE. ZC Rubber opened its Europe Technical Center (ETC) in Hannover Germany in 2021. It will use the ETC to support the global development of its original equipment business and to work with key OE accounts in the region. In his new role, Winter will report to Martin Wells, vice president ZC Technical Center & global OE.

Vaculug appoints Glenn Sherwood as Chief Growth Officer

Tructyre founder Glenn Sherwood is the new Chief Growth Officer at Vaculug. In this role, he will be responsible for the firm’s new growth initiatives both on the fleet side as well as the technology and product side of the business.

Ex-Nokian R&D head joins Omni United

Omni United has appointed Olli Seppälä as its global head of R&D. The former head of R&D at Nokian, Seppälä brings with him expertise in passenger, light truck and heavy-duty tyres. His remit is to drive forward Omni’s product research, design, development and testing.

SuperTruck’s European rollout – Schena to head business

The SuperTruck dealer consortium is gearing up to launch in six European markets, including the UK, and Prometeon Tyre Group has appointed Riccardo Schena to lead the network during this time of growth. The company introduced Schena, who has served as Prometeon’s chief financial officer for Europe since September 2020, to dealers at a recent meeting in the Italian town of Gubbio.

IMI CEO recognised in Association Excellence Awards

Foucart to head Mobivia’s workshop & dealer businesses; new CEO at ATU

After four years as chief executive officer of German tyre and car service network ATU, Matthieu Foucart is returning to parent company Mobivia in France. There he will assume overall responsibility for the group’s workshop and specialist dealer business, which includes the Norauto, Midas, Auto 5 and ATU brands. His successor heading the four-person ATU management team is Sascha Bopp, who will take over as chief executive officer on 1 October 2022.

Carlton Forest Renewables appoints business development director

Warren Steele as joined Carlton Forest Renewables, home of the UK’s first continuous pyrolysis plant for end-of-life tyres, as business development director. In this role he will work closely with the Carlton Forest team as the technology begins to be rolled out in joint venture agreements within the UK and beyond.

Delticom appoints new CFO

18th July 2022

On 1 September 2022, Dr Johannes Schmidt-Schultes will become chief financial officer of Delticom AG, the company behind numerous online tyre portals such as Mytyres.co.uk and Yourtyres.co.uk. He succeeds Thomas Loock, who took on this role in August 2019 but left Delticom following the company’s Annual General Meeting in May.

Apollo Tyres appoints APMEA marketing head

Vikram Garga is the new group head of marketing for Apollo Tyres in the Asia Pacific, Middle East & Africa (APMEA) region. Announcing Garga’s appointment, Apollo says the industry veteran will spearhead the regional marketing team and take responsibility for marketing and product strategy for all product categories, dealer programmes, brand positioning and monitoring performance in conjunction with sales. Based out of Apollo Tyres’ corporate headquarters in Gurugram, India, Garga will report to Satish Sharma president of Apollo Tyres’ APMEA business.

CAM appoints vehicle leasing sector veteran as customer success manager

CAM has appointed Dan Mallier as its new customer success manager. The automotive servicing digital systems provider says Mallier will work closely with its customers to understand their strategic direction. He will then ensure CAM’s products will support the achievement of their objectives.
