The organisation sets out to achieve a better gender balance within the automotive industry. Barnes has been part of the Liqui Moly team for seven years and was most recently regional sales manager and national key account manager at Liqui Moly UK. In her new position as managing director, she is now responsible for the operational business of the Liqui Moly subsidiary. She strengthens the management team, which has included Dr Uli Weller, managing director of the parent company, and Salvatore Coniglio, Liqui Moly export director, since the company was founded.

Luca Mai has returned to Triangle Tyre in Europe to lead the Chinese manufacturer’s off-the-road tyre segment. OTR specialist Mai left his position as OTR director Europe at the end of August 2021 having joined the company in 2019. The OTR tyre expert previously spent two decades at Marangoni. He reassumed his tenure as part of the European Triangle team, managing the OTR segment, at the start of the year. Corrado Moglia, CEO of Triangle Europe said Mai’s “skills, experience, and knowledge of the sector, with the passion that sets him apart, will help us achieve our goals.”

Recruitment roadblock reduces Halfords profitability, but tyres continue to drive growth
Halfords Group plc (Halfords)’s third-quarter 2023 trading update for the 13 weeks to 30 December 2022 show that group revenue grew 38.3 per cent and like-for-like group sales were up 12.6 per cent compared with 2020 levels. Other headlines included the news that Halfords’s services business represents 50.3 per cent of group revenue, and B2B, which includes the Avayler system 28.2 per cent. At the same time, Halfords hailed its “strong Commercial Fleet performance”, with this part of the business growing 138 per cent year-on-year. However, the company reduced its full-year 2023 underlying profit before tax (PBT) guidance from £60 million to £50 million.
