Goodyear’s Delaney elected ETRMA president
On 9 November, ETRMA Members elected Chris Delaney of Goodyear as president of the association for a two-year term of office starting on 1 January 2024. Chris Delaney is president EMEA of the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company and currently serves on the board of ETRMA. Dr Ralf Holschumacher of the German Rubber Industry Association (WDK) was elected vice president at the meeting.

Continental has announced plans for 400 million euros of annual cost-savings in its Automotive sector by 2025. The aim is to “create leaner business and administrative structures worldwide as well as quicker decision-making processes”. And that means streamlining the organisational structure within Automotive from six to five business areas.

Starting Monday 13 November, Christian Bergaust is the new interim chief financial officer of Scandinavian Enviro Systems. He joins the Swedish end-of-life tyre pyrolysis recycling specialist from Alelion Energy Systems, where he’d served as CFO for the past three years. Bergaust will work in parallel with current CFO Staffan Kullberg until, as previously announced, Kullberg leaves the firm in connection with the report for the third quarter on 23 November.

IGA will offer large subsidies on MOT training for their members from 1 November 2023. These include a 40 per cent reduction in the cost of MOT tester training and a 50 per cent reduction in the cost of MOT manager training for a limited period. “Due to the challenging times we are facing as a sector, the IGA feels it is appropriate to provide support to members and help them with the cost of upskilling their staff, as we enter the busy period for MOTs,” announced Stuart James, IGA chief executive.
