CAM appoints Mouse as new customer liaison officer
Marianna Linscott, known as “Mouse”, has been appointed by CAM as junior customer liaison officer. The software systems supplier to the tyre industry said the appointment reinforces its commitment to providing proactive frontline communications to its UK and Republic of Ireland customer base, which it claims has nearly doubled in the past five years.

Joining south west regional director Paul Dineen, James Geldart will be responsible for the Eastern Alliance’s 21 branches, serving independent garages in London and the South East of England. Geldart was previously a divisional director with Unipart Automotive (UA), and was appointed with effect from Monday, 1 September.

The Parts Alliance has acquired three more former Unipart Automotive (UA) branches. Located in the south west of England, the Chard, Frome and Plymouth sites are expected to re-open around the end of September, according to The Parts Alliance. They bring the number of former Unipart Automotive branches acquired by the HgCapital-owned business group to 15 including the 12 acquired in July after UA went into administration. 24 more jobs have been saved as a result, while Paul Dineen, formerly regional director with UA and head of the Unipart Car Care Centres (UCCC) programme, has been recruited to oversee the eight ex-UA sites in Barnstaple, Penryn, Taunton, Tiverton and Exeter.

Raising more than £1,000 for Marie Curie Cancer Care, GT Radial’s Le Mans 24 Hour Cycle Race team pedalled 169 laps of the 4,185m Circuit Bugatti. The team, comprising Brian McDermott, managing director UK for Giti Tire; Ellis Hadley, senior test engineer; Martin Gibson, senior test engineer; and Bertrand Saint-Supery, OEM EU technical director, covered a total of 707,265m to finish 340th out of 458.

Zamarro’s appointment is effective immediately, and she will report to Goodyear executive vice-president and chief financial officer Laura Thompson.

Crispin Turner, previously marketing communications manager at JCB, has joined Goodyear Dunlop UK & Ireland as commercial product marketing manager. Turner, who previously oversaw for the marketing of products in North, South and Central America at JCB, as well as looking after two products globally, joins Goodyear Dunlop to lead its marketing activities across the commercial vehicle business, reporting into UK and Ireland commercial director, Marc Preedy. Adam Stanton who was previously Commercial Product Marketing Manager is taking up a new post as Commercial Product Marketing Manager for EMEA. In this role he will focus specifically on Retread and OTR products reporting into Davide Califano, marketing manager EMEA.

The IMI will also push the campaign out through its 587 centres.

Stuart Jackson, Apollo Vredestein UK managing director and Tyresafe chairman, was elected as chairman of the Tyre Industry Federation (TIF) during the umbrella association’s booard meeting during that last month. While it is early days in the incumbent’s tenure, there are early indications that there will be developments within the wider TIF strategy and that members will be looking at areas of common ground between the various member associations. Speaking to Tyres & Accessories on the sidelines of an Apollo Vredestein event in Manchester, Jackson described the news as “an honour”.
