Bentley’s Dr Ariane Reinhart joins Continental’s executive board
Dr Ariane Reinhart (44) assumed her post as Executive Board Member for Human Resources at Continental AG today (1 October), raising the company’s executive board to nine members. The supervisory board of automotive supplier/tyre manufacturer appointed Dr. Reinhart during a meeting on 25 April 2014. Her contract runs for three years.

John McNaught leaving Bridgestone
After 12 years at Bridgestone, John McNaught is to leave the company on 31 October 2014. McNaught, who has 36 years of tyre industry experience, led many of the initiatives that resulted in Bridgestone’s recent growth in this part of Europe during his tenure including significant growth in the company’s truck and bus fleet business and the acquisitions of the Kingsway retail business in 2004 and the Bulldog retreading operation in 2005 (See “Strong growth at Bridgestone UK” in our September 2005 issue for more); not to mention the expansion of the UK office’s oversight into a regional or “zone” headquarters including the Nordic markets (See “Why Bridgestone believes its new European structure takes it closer to the market”, September 2011), to name two examples.

Tom Onslow-Cole to test drive for Toyo
Toyo Tires has revealed the latest test driver to join its ranks is none other than BTCC and British GT ace, Tom Onslow-Cole. As well as being a well-known driver in his own right, the popular Surrey wheelman is also the head coach for motorsports governing body, the MSA.

Bosch Automotive Aftermarket appoints new UK/Ireland divisional director
Starting 1 October, Dominic Moran will assume top level responsibility for the supply of automotive parts, workshop equipment, software and services for Bosch Automotive Aftermarket in the role of divisional director for the UK and Ireland. Pirelli announces German market management change
The sales manager of Pirelli’s ‘Car’ wholesale channel in the German market, Reimund Wolfmüller, is leaving the company as of 31 December 2014, reports Pirelli Deutschland GmbH. The company’s intention is to appoint a successor before the end of the year to ensure a smooth changeover. During the transition period, Pirelli Deutschland sales and marketing manager Andreas Penkert will be responsible for the Car sales channel.

Harter resigns as Giti Tire’s German-region boss
Giti Tire is currently looking for a new general manager for the DACH market – Germany, Austria and Switzerland – following the departure of Rainer Harter. The company’s managing director for Europe, Richard Lyons, told Tyres & Accessories that Harter recently “left of his own accord in order to pursue new opportunities.” Harter joined Giti Tire in summer 2013 and held the position of managing director at Giti Tire Deutschland GmbH. Lyons commented that the former Michelin manager “had done a very good job.”

Mahle Aftermarket introduces new division, appoints European head
This year’s Automechanika show in Frankfurt, Germany is the scene of several debuts for Mahle Aftermarket. The Mahle business unit specialising in spare parts is introducing its new Mahle Service Solutions division; this new division expands Mahle Aftermarket’s product portfolio to include repair shop equipment. Other first-time highlights on display this year (hall 3.0, stands A11 and A20) include complete solutions from Mahle for air management, oil management, piston systems and cylinder components, and engine cooling.
