In the summer of 2015 we reported Triangle Tire’s appointment of Pierre Cohade as the company’s chief executive officer. Following the establishment of Hamaton Inc. in the US, Hamaton has appointed Enri Osmani, as general manager of the North America business. According to the company, he brings with him “significant depth of experience gained from senior roles which have taken him into both the Automotive aftermarket and OE sectors.” Based at the new headquarters in Wixom, Michigan, and working closely with the management team of Hamaton Ltd in the UK, he will coordinate the development of Hamaton Inc. which will ensure that Hamaton’s North American customer base will receive valuable field sales, technical, training and product support.

TyrePal has hired Steve Coffin – a telematics expert - as operations director. Before joining TyrePal, Coffin was marketing and operations director for MiX Telematics Europe. In this role, he was responsible for maintenance and sales to all existing clients and also handled marketing activity across Europe. He was part of the management team that established the company when it was divested from Siemens VDO Automotive and has been responsible for handling a 10-year contract with the Go-Ahead Group, a leading bus operator in the UK with 4,500 vehicles.

Motor Wheel Service Distribution (MWSD) has restructured its senior management in preparation for future growth. The changes follow the launch of MWSD’s German division and the impending implementation of the EU Roadworthiness Act. Company founder and owner John Ellis becomes chief executive and Matthew Mardle, who joined the business earlier this year as operations director, takes the title of chief operating officer. Kevin Ryan maintains the specialist product development and client advisor role as chief technical officer, and Clive Maudsley is now chief financial officer. Michael Payton maintains his position as marketing director.

He here will inspect and report on a variety of operations, including working weekends, to ensure success and compliance throughout our managed fleets.

Sailun Jinyu International (SJI) has appointed Gareth Passmore as its president for Europe. He replaces Martin West, who has been appointed global president of the SJI Speciality Tire Group. Passmore will be responsible for all operations throughout Europe of the four brands within the Sailun Jinyu Group portfolio – Sailun, Jinyu, Black Lion and Rovelo. He will join Sailun on 1 December 2016, and be based at the SJI European Operations Centre in Birmingham, after relocating to the UK.

As well as the popular Tyre Industry Awards, the NTDA also presented special awards to three individuals that have gone the extra mile in their service of the tyre industry over the years during the annual dinner at the start of October. The association honoured Kwik-Fit founder and well-known philanthropist Sir Tom Farmer with the national chairman’s award for outstanding contribution to the tyre industry as well as an honorary life membership of the association. In addition Brian Funnell and Lennie Wells become honorary life members (see Brian Funnell and Lennie Wells become NTDA honorary life members).
