New general manager for Tyres in Stock
Leon van den Ouden has been appointed general manager of online tyre specialist Tyres in Stock Europe B.V. He takes over tasks previously performed by company owner Siem Klapwijk, such as furthering the B2B tyre platforms international development. Klapwijk will remain involved with Tyres in Stock, albeit in a less prominent role.

The Trelleborg Group has appointed Paolo Pompei as the new business area president of Trelleborg Wheel Systems as of 1 April, 2017. He will succeed Maurizio Vischi, who is retiring. Like his predecessor, Paolo will be a member of Trelleborg Group Management. Pompei, born in 1971, has worked at Trelleborg Wheel Systems in various management positions since 1999, and for the past number of years has been in charge of the global operations of agricultural tyres.

The name Paul Hembery has been synonymous with Pirelli’s motorsport activities for a number of years now, but as of 15 March he will assume the additional role of executive president of the Pirelli LATAM Region consumer business. He takes over from Paolo Dal Pino, who was nominated chief executive officer of Pirelli Industrial last October and since then has maintained responsibility for the consumer business in Latin America on an interim basis. Pirelli adds that Claudio Passerini remains confirmed in the role of chief operating officer.

It is no secret that Continental and Bandvulc have been working together for decades. So it was also no surprise to learn that the subject of a possible takeover arose as long as 12 years ago. However, the round of talks that resulted in the sale agreement were instigated by Bandvulc managing director Patrick O’Connell during a meeting at the CV show in 2013. In the two or so years that followed the two firms say they grew together before a final deal was completed in July 2016.
