Thierry Sarasyn visits 15 countries in 22 hours on Bridgestone Battlax T32 tyres
The Belgian motorcyclist Thierry Sarasyn set a new touring world record when he visited 15 countries in just 22 hours, surpassing his own milestone of 13 countries in a day. Sarasyn finished his route in the Netherlands at 19:59 on 23 May, just under 22 hours after starting in Poland. The rider achieved this feat on a pair of Bridgestone Battlax T32 tyres, the manufacturer’s next-generation sport touring motorcycle tyre. It is the third biking world record in three years in which the Battlax T32 has been used, all three achieved by different riders on different bikes, following different routes.

Giti Tire has described its visit to the 51st ADAC TotalEnergies 24-hour Nürburgring race as “a huge weekend” for its motorsport division. The manufacturer is supporting its all-female racing team again and will ramp up its new brand building partnership with Sparco. This means that as well as participating in the event, Giti will have its broadest selection of marketing activities at the event. Stefan Brohs, marketing director - Europe for Giti Tire, promises a “full communication strategy” designed to launch the “Giti – Powered by Sparco” slogan for in-person and online viewers.

The brothers and their father, David, have a long history of competing in one of motorsport’s most unique disciplines, with a reception area lined with trophies and memorabilia from track-based competition to show for it. In 2023, both brothers are competing in division one of the BTRC. Craig, who is infectiously enthusiastic about racing if also endearingly downbeat about his own chances in the competition, took the time to tell T&A about the Reid brothers’ trucks, the competition, and his affinity for the tyres of the series’ exclusive tyre supplier, Giti, both on-track and on the Reid fleet of trucks, heavy haulage trailers and specialist rail logistics units.

With the current agreement expiring at the end of this year, Dorna WorldSBK Organization, in agreement with motorcycling federation the FIM, proposed to Pirelli a new three-year agreement for the period 2024-2026.

In a three-year deal beginning in 2024, Goodyear will become exclusive tyre supplier to the LMGT3 category in the FIA World Endurance Championship and the European Le Mans Series. It is currently developing new tyres for the category and will test these in Europe and America together with several GT3 manufacturers later this year. Goodyear comments that “tyre longevity will be a key focus.”
