Michelin has introduced a new all-terrain motorcycle tyre. It’s called the Tracker, and with the tyre Michelin is targeting riders who take part in amateur competition as well as those who ride for leisure on a broad spectrum of terrains. The tyre maker says the tread pattern, grip and resilience of the Michelin Tracker make it “perfectly suited to riding on sand, mud and dirt.” The Tracker is also approved for road use.

In order to verify the standards achieved by its franchisees, the fast-fit network audits all centres and awards top performers accordingly. Yokohama Tire Corporation has been awarded Caterpillar’s premier supplier award for the seventh year in a row. The award – Platinum Level Recertification in its Supplier Quality Excellence Process (SQEP) – went to Yokohama’s factory in Onomichi, Japan. This year a new range of Pirelli Diablo tyres geared towards track use will be brought to market. The additions for 2019 include: New compounds for the Diablo Superbike slick in the standard 200/60 ZR 17 rear and 120/70 ZR 17 front sizes; a new SCX solution (ExtraSoft) for the Diablo Superbike slick in size 200/65; larger Diablo Superbike Slicks in 200/65 ZR17 rear (SC0 compound) and 125/70 ZR17 front (SC1 compound); a new Diablo Rain rear tyre in size 200/60 ZR 17, available in two different compounds; and a new Diablo Supercorsa SC, the third generation of this range to be introduced.
With the launch of the Galaxy LHD 500 SDS (Severe Duty Solid) at this year’s Bauma show, ATG further extends its portfolio of solid tyres for material handling, construction, mining and waste management applications. The new Galaxy tyre is suited for use on heavy forklifts and wheel loaders working in extreme conditions. ATG says the tyre offers low wear, long service life and long productivity.
As drivers take advantage of the latest low emission vehicle technology – whether petrol, diesel or alternatively fuelled vehicles (AFV) – average CO2 emissions for the UK motor parc have fallen to the lowest on record. According to figures released by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT), emissions are down -17.8 per cent compared with the 175.1g/km average CO2 emissions from the UK car fleet in 2008.
