Enso named finalists in Earthshot prize for EV tyres

Yodel, one of the UK’s leading parcel carriers, has awarded a five-year tyre management contract to Halfords Commercial Fleet Services. Halfords Commercial Fleet Services’ position as the UK’s largest commercial service network with 104 depots and over 500 dedicated mobile vans was cited as a major factor behind decision.

At its Annual General Meeting held on 13 September 2023, the Tyre Recovery Association (TRA) unanimously elected Bill Clarke of DME Tyres to be its new president for the next two years. Following the news that Nexen Tire and Grupo Soledad are partnering to supply the Korean tyre maker’s products to the Spanish Policia Nacional, Nexen representatives have confirmed the details.
Fruehauf Inc. (Fruehauf) is recalling certain 2025 Composite trailers equipped with the Tire Pilot Plus tyre pressure regulation systems (TPRS) in the USA. According to National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) documentation 786 trailers are affected and all eight tyres on affected trailers “may experience a loss of tyre pressure while driving faster than 45 mph.”

Netherlands-based Magna Tyres has opened a new office in Serbia in response to “ongoing sales growth throughout Serbia and Montenegro.”

Jason Chamberlain, sales director at ATS Euromaster, is now also taking over as commercial director role of TrucTyre. In his expanded new role, Chamberlain will be responsible for overseeing and driving business growth for both ATS Euromaster and TrucTyre. According to the company, “the promotion will ensure customers of both ATS Euromaster and TrucTyre get a consistent and high quality level of service, across all vehicle types.”
The Tyre Shop recently held its annual charity golf day in aid of Corbets Tey School for children with special needs in Upminster, Essex. The Tyre Shop raised over £20,000 for the school on the day, having raised over £200,000 in the 17 years it has been helping the school.
In July, Exhaust Tyres and Batteries (Worcester) Limited (otherwise known as the Bridgestone-owned ETB tyre retail operation) exceeded the amount of waste the company were legally allowed to deposit at Synergy Tyres Limited, Daventry in total depositing around 250,000 of waste tyres. As a result, ETB was fined £100,000 and ordered to pay costs of £7,463.
