Exmile tyres are produced by Exmile Special Tyre Co. Ltd. which was established in 2006. Tyre production centres on two Chinese-based operations known as Exmile (Shandong) and Exmile (Jiangsu).

For the second time in two decades, Continental has exited the agricultural tyre business. First off, Continental executives sold the well-known German tyremaker’s agricultural tyre business to the Czech based company CGS in 2004. (CGS subsequently adopted the brand name Mitas and that operation was sold to Trelleborg Wheel Systems in 2016. The combined Mitas/Trelleborg Wheel Systems officially became part of Yokohama in May 2023). For 13 years the sale of Continental agricultural tyres in 2004, Continental agricultural tyres were manufactured under license by Mitas until 2017. In 2016 Continental announced its decision to re-enter the agricultural tyre market.

Bond International has completed the acquisition of 75 per cent of Tyrescope Ltd’s shares. This follows a brace of whole and distribution acquisitions announced last year, which suggests the company remains in the midst of its growth strategy. President Trump has said for months that he will introduce swingeing tariffs in a bid to restore the economic fortunes of the United States of America. A large part of the rationale behind the tariffs is his strategy of supporting US manufacturing. If that is the case, Goodyear has benefitted too with its shares up as much as 14 per cent when trading opened on the morning of 3 April, before falling slightly afterwards. Whatever figure Goodyear stock closes at, it looks likely to be up in the double-digit or high single-digit range. And that stands in stark contrast to the rest of the top five global tyremakers, all of which were down single-digit percentages following the official announcement of Trump’s tariffs.

Bridgestone Corporation is set to exhibit at the 40th Space Symposium in Colorado Springs, Colorado from Monday, 7 – 10 April 2025. Bridgestone’s exhibit will be in Japan’s Space Industry booth, organized by the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency. Bridgestone will showcase two concept models of its second-generation lunar rover tyre. These models have been refined from the previous year’s model to feature lower weight, making them suitable for small and medium-sized lunar rovers. A Goodyear employee was killed at the tyremaker’s Colmar Berg, Luxembourg factory on 29 March 2025. Local news sources report that victim was a 46-year-old man who had lived in Luxembourg for a decade. The employee had reportedly been working in Goodyear’s tyre quality control department in Colmar-Berg for eight years where the reported workplace accident appears to have taken place.

Kwik Fit has won gold for its most recent advertisement. The award came in the automotive category at the British Arrows, an advertising awards body which honours the best moving image advertising in the UK.
