The South African Tyre Manufacturers Conference (SATMC) has welcomed the International Trade Administration Commission’s (ITAC) publication of provisional payments on “unfairly traded (dumped) imports of passenger, truck and bus tyres imported from China”. Provisional payments in place for a period of six months amount to 38.33 percent ad valorem. The six-month period runs from 9 September 2022 until 8 March 2023.
Emerald Resilient Tyre Manufacturers Pvt Ltd has launched a new range of solid skid-steer tyres at the IMHX 2022 exhibition in association with the company’s UK distributor, World Wide Tyre Marketing (Fork Truck Tyres Ltd).
According to the company, Emerald is the largest Indian solid and pneumatic tyre manufacturing and exporting company and was proud to launch the new range, which is available both with and without apertures.

M&B Engineering is introducing its latest range of tyre changers, wheel balancers and wheel alignment systems at Automechanika Frankfurt later this month. Specifically, M&B will show the new turntable TC700 Series as well as the “top-of-the-range model TC755 Leverless”, which represents the further evolution of the TC555 SL-4.
BitcoinRacing was formed with the stated aim speeding up the adoption of Bitcoin as an everyday currency. Anvil Tyre Centre, owned and managed by brothers Daniel and Kyle Wethers, has moved into a new MOT servicing and tyre repair depot in Dromore, Northern Ireland following a six-figure investment supported by Ulster Bank. The move will create two new full-time equivalent jobs when fully operational. As a result, Anvil Tyre Centre is vacating its former trading premises on the Lurgan Road.
Following the headline-grabbing news that Liz Truss is open to the idea of turning the UK motorway network into an autobahn-style system, we took a closer look at the idea. Of course, we all know that both Truss and Sunak are electioneering at the moment, doing their best to tell tory members what they think they want to hear. But, however sincere the motivation turns out to be, dispatching with the speed limit will have an inevitable impact on both road safety and the tyre market. So, with that in mind, this month’s column is something of a thought experiment. What would happen if Liz Truss became prime minister and got her way when it comes to turning motorways into autobahns?
