Apollo Tyres’ Steve Miller passes away

Apollo Tyres UK TBR sales manager Steve Miller has been praised for his “lasting impact” at the firm after he passed away in late February. He was a stalwart of the UK commercial tyre sector, commencing with Michelin as area sales manager -truck in 1999, before joining Bridgestone in 2004, where he spent the next nine years, becoming a national fleet executive. He joined Kumho in 2013 to introduce the Korean manufacturer’s Kumho and Marshal brands onto the national truck and bus tyre market as UK TBR sales manager for the next five years. When he joined Apollo Tyres in mid-2018, he was responsible for bringing the Apollo brand’s TBR product line into the UK.
A representative of Apollo told Tyres & Accessories: “We are deeply saddened by the passing of our respected colleague, Steve Miller. As a valued member of Apollo Tyres, Steve made a lasting impact through his dedication, expertise, and passion for the transport industry. His enthusiasm and commitment touched many, and he will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of working with him.
“Our thoughts are with his family, friends, and colleagues during this difficult time.”
Outside of tyres, Steve brought his enthusiasm and expertise to BBC Local Radio as a sports commentator, covering football clubs such as Northampton Town and Kidderminster Harriers, and motorsport events like Formula 1 and the World Endurance Championship.
