Ceat boosting capacity to meet India demand
At its meeting held on 15 January, the Board of Directors of Ceat Limited put forward a proposal to increase production capacity at the tyre maker’s Nagpur plant in India’s Maharashtra state by approximately 30 per cent. This would lift the facility’s current 27 million tyres a year capacity – which is currently 90 per cent utilised – to around 35 million tyres annually. Ceat intends to invest Rs 4 billion (£37.8 million) in this project.
