TTC launch for latest Hankook EV tyres

Hankook Tire is limbering up to present product innovations at The Tire Cologne this June, where it will display a new addition to its iON range of EV-oriented tyres as well as well as a product designed specifically for electric buses operating in urban areas.
The Hankook iON GT is predominantly composed of recycled and renewable materials and targets all-electric saloons, city cars. A version of the iON GT for SUVs will follow. ISCC Plus certification affirms this product’s sustainability claim, adds Hankook Tire.
In response to the evolving needs of the public transportation sector, Hankook will unveil the e-Smart City AU56 commercial vehicle tyre. This tyre, designed specifically for electric buses, offers enhanced tread wear durability and efficient transmission of torque to the road surface, addressing the unique demands of electric vehicles. Notably, the tyre boasts a higher weight rating and is optimised for regrooving and retreading, aligning with Hankook’s commitment to reducing resource consumption. Leveraging cutting-edge technologies such as AI-assisted design, digital twin technology, and 3D-printed tread moulds, the development of the e-Smart City AU56 exemplifies Hankook’s dedication to innovation and sustainability in tyre manufacturing.
Alphatread at AZuR stand
In addition to its own stand, C040 D049 in Hall 8.1, Hankook will be present at The Tire Cologne as a co-exhibitor at the stand of ‘Allianz Zukunft Reifen’ (AZuR) with its range of Alphatread mould cure retreaded commercial vehicle tyres. The Germany-based network is committed to the best possible recycling of used tyres, the protection of resources and the avoidance of waste. Hankook has been a partner in the AZuR network since 2023.
