Hyundai chooses Continental tyres for Tucson SUV

Hyundai Motor Group has approved three Continental tyre models for its Tucson SUV. The Tucson SUV will roll off assembly lines equipped with either the energy-efficient EcoContact 6 or the comfort-oriented PremiumContact 6. For the Asia-Pacific region, Hyundai has also approved the CrossContact LX Sport, which is designed for light off-road driving.
The EcoContact 6 boasts a special rubber compound that reduces energy absorption during driving while decreasing friction and rolling resistance. This translates to lower energy consumption for combustion engine vehicles and extended range for electric vehicles. Moreover, Continental says that drivers can expect short braking distances, reliable grip on wet and dry roads, and very good cornering stability, even at high speeds. The tyre’s optimised tread design further minimises rolling noise for a quieter ride.
Designed with a focus on safety and comfort, the PremiumContact 6 tyre features a tread compound that ensures “very good safety and wet braking properties.” According to Continental, the tyre’s design offers high cornering stability, while circumferential grooves enhance handling response and steering precision on both wet and dry roads.
In the Asia-Pacific market, Hyundai offers the Tucson equipped with the CrossContact LX Sport tyre in an 18-inch size. This tyre delivers short braking distances on diverse road surfaces and provides effective traction both on and off-road. With a reinforced sidewall for added protection against damage, such as stone chips, the CrossContact LX Sport tyre ensures durability and peace of mind. Additionally, its tailored profile promotes fuel efficiency by reducing rolling resistance, while the uniform sipe arrangement on the tread minimises rolling noise, enhancing overall driving comfort.
