Dunlop OE on Land Cruiser 250

Sumitomo Rubber Industries, Ltd. (SRI) has begun supplying Dunlop Grandtrek AT23 and Grandtrek PT22 tyres as factory standard tyres for the new Land Cruiser 250, launched in Japan this April. The new Land Cruiser 250 will feature Dunlop Grandtrek AT23 tyres in size 265/65R18 114V and the Grandtrek PT22 in 265/60R20 112H.
Toyota developed the Land Cruiser 250 under the concept of “back to the basics,” aiming to return to the 4×4 to its original role of supporting users’ daily lives with simplicity and sturdiness. SRI comments that the 250 adheres to the core development principles of the Land Cruiser: reliability, durability, and drivability on rough terrain.
SRI has long supplied 4×4 and SUV tyres, including the Grandtrek series, as factory standard tyres for the Toyota Land Cruiser. The tyre maker reports having continually evolved these tyres to enhance performance, embodying the essence of the Land Cruiser as “a vehicle that allows people to go anywhere and everywhere and return safely.”
New tread rubber & simulation technology
The selected Grandtrek AT23 and Grandtrek PT22 tyres are designed to enhance the Land Cruiser 250’s performance both on and off-road, says SRI. They feature new tread rubber that outperforms conventional equivalents in fuel economy and anti-wear performance, while maintaining reliability and durability.
When tailoring the Grandtrek PT22 for the Land Cruiser, SRI used advanced simulation technology that draws on decades of development knowledge. This technology enabled the prediction and evaluation of an optimal new tread pattern, achieving a high level of quietness and balancing fuel economy with driving performance.
Yokohama Rubber is also supplying original equipment tyres for the Land Cruiser 250.
