Sustainable Toyo tyres winning NLS races

Cars equipped with Toyo Proxes slick race tyres containing sustainable materials have own two of first four Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie races. The Toyota GR Supra GT4 EVOs of team Toyo Tires with Ring Racing were victorious in the first rounds of the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie in the SP10 class as well as in 24H Nürburgring Qualifier races.
The Proxes slick race tyre contains a number of sustainable raw materials. The latest specification tyre, developed at the Nürburgring, uses plant-derived oil, rice husk silica, and recycled bead wire. Toyo Tires describes the tyre as “both sustainable and effective, even with extreme use,” adding that it contributes to the company’s policy of “realising a sustainable mobility life.”
Two Toyota GR Supra GT4 Evos are contesting the 2024 NLS endurance series in the SP10 (GT4) class. Both wear Nürburgring spec Proxes slicks, which Toyo Tires developed using sustainable materials. Most recently, the team finished P1 and P2 in their class in the first race of the 24H Nürburgring Qualifiers on Saturday 13 April and then took P2 the following day in the second race.
Sustainable Concept Tire
Earlier this year, the company introduced a concept tyre developed containing 90 per cent sustainable materials. It displayed this tyre at the Tokyo Auto Salon and, more recently, at the AMTS Budapest exhibition. This tyre incorporates butadiene rubber derived from CO2 created in the production process that would otherwise have been a waste product.
Toyo Proxes slicks will participate in the 24H Nürburgring event on 1 June 2024.
