April 2004
In the UK, Bridgestone increased its presence in the retail sector with the purchase of the 16-depot business Kingsway Tyres.
Also in the UK, Sapphire Energy Recovery signed a deal with Rugby Cement to supply used tyre chips as fuel for the manufacture of cement.
April 2009
“Security” was cited as the reason why the White House declined to confirm or deny reports that President Obama’s Cadillac was fitted with Goodyear Regional RHS truck tyres on 19.5” wheels.
Celebrations in Taiwan as Nankang Rubber chalked up its 50th anniversary.
April 2014
Tyre labelling was introduced by the EU, detailing performance of wet grip, rolling resistance and noise levels of new tyres.
A list of the top 10 Superbrands in the UK, compiled by the London-based Centre for Brand Analysis, named Michelin in eighth place.
April 2019
Continental opened a new passenger car tyre factory in Thailand. When up to speed, production capacity will be four million car and LCV tyres a year.
Michelin and automotive parts manufacturer Faurecia signed a JV agreement for the development and manufacture of hydrogen fuel cell systems.
