Nexen Tire wins Red Dot Design Award 2024

Nexen Tire has won the Red Dot Design Award in the product category. The prize was awarded to the tyre manufacturer for the N’Fera Sport S tyre.

“We are delighted to have won one of the three most important design awards in the world and to have demonstrated our competitiveness,” said DC Kim, vice president Europe sales and marketing at Nexen Tire, adding: “Our goal is to further increase our brand value through our unique design.”

The N’Fera Sport S is an ultra-high performance tyre developed for “dynamic driving at high speeds and impresses with its outstanding durability”. According to the company, the N’Fera Sport S design was first optimized to balance performance on dry and wet roads with 3+1 grooves (thick vertical grooves on the tyre surface) to prevent aquaplaning and maximize grip on dry roads. In addition, the rigidity of the outer shoulder, where load and grip are concentrated, has been strengthened for agile handling, and the wide center block has been used to improve steering at high speeds.

This result endured rigorous tests on the notoriously demanding Nürburgring race track.

Furthermore, the “HN Replacement” mark has been added to the side of the tyre, indicating that Nexen is the only Korean tyremaker that has received certification for replacement tyres exclusively for the Hyundai N brand.
