Additional size joins Apollo EnduMile LHT range

Apollo Tyres has launched a new 385/55 R22.5 variant of its “most fuel-efficient truck trailer product,” the Apollo EnduMile LHT long-haul trailer (LHT) tyre. Now available across Europe, the 385/55 R22.5 tyre complements the launch range EnduMile LHT size 385/65 R22.5, which Apollo Tyres debuted last October.
This first dedicated LHT tyre in the Apollo range sets “new benchmarks in the segment for performance and efficiency,” says the tyre maker. EnduMile LHT has an EU tyre label A-rating for rolling resistance, and Apollo Tyres declares it the ”most fuel-efficient truck tyre ever produced by the company.” It is also A-rated for road noise, emitting just 70dB during industry-standard test procedures.
EnduMile LHT features a ‘free-rolling’ tread pattern specifically developed for trailer axles and integrates a compact centre rib that maximises roadholding, curb noise and ensures efficient operation.
The tyre’s contact patch optimises pressure distribution for improved performance, fuel efficiency and wear. A new blend of polymers and fillers contributes to the low rolling resistance, while also ensuring consistent levels of grip on wet surfaces. The tread compound manages fluctuations in temperature during prolonged use to preserve performance and improve durability. The tyre’s casing is retreadable – a critical requirement for many European long-haul customers.
Building on demand momentum
Design of the Apollo EnduMile LHT was the remit of Apollo Tyres’ global R&D team in the Netherlands, and prior to launching, Apollo subjected the tyre to a two-year testing process that involved both virtual and real-life tests. Production is taking place at the company’s plant in Hungary.
“We’ve seen strong demand for our first LHT product since it was launched last year, and we look forward to building on that momentum with this new size option,” says Yves Pouliquen, group head of sales and marketing at Apollo Tyres Europe. “The expanding EnduMile range represents our ongoing commitment to innovation and performance, and we will continue to invest in products tailored to the needs of the long-haul sector.”
