Yokohama tyres OE on two Ariel models

Ariel Motor Company, has selected Yokohama tyres as original equipment (OE) for two of its vehicles – the Ariel Atom and the Ariel Nomad. Effective immediately, the Atom will be available to customers fitted with Yokohama’s Advan Sport V105 tyre. From later in 2024, all Ariel Atoms will be fitted with Yokohama’s Advan Sport V105 as part of an exclusive one-make supply agreement.
The cars have previously been equipped with 195/50R16 Avon ZZS on the front and 255/40R17 Avon ZZR, according to the Ariel website. Moving forward, customers are also able to spec up their Atom at point of order to Yokohama’s road legal track option A052 tyre.
Meanwhile, the Ariel Nomad will be equipped with products from Yokohama’s Geolandar range, specifically Yokohama’s A/T G015 and X-A/T G016 tyres.
“For years, Ariel’s cars have been held in high regard by distinguished motoring journalists and those in the know, so it’s fantastic news that Yokohama has now been selected as a tyre partner to the manufacturer,” explained Karl Naylor, commercial director, Yokohama UK. “Whether it’s on the race track, on the road or even off-road, our tyres are designed to deliver the very best performance, so this new partnership is incredibly exciting and one we look forward to developing over many years to come.”
Speaking about the decision to select tyres from Yokohama, Henry Siebert-Saunders from Ariel Motor Company said: “We are very pleased to be continuing our now exclusive relationship with Yokohama, that started as far back as 2006, with the first fitment of the now loved-and-lost A048. It was the beginning of an era for us in performance tyre selection, as nothing has ever come close. The advent of the A052 provided better performance – more suited to the more current Atom 4 model – and we have never looked back. Taking a turn off road – the A/T GO15 (in 15” and 18” sizes) has been the staple of the Nomad – and will continue to be! Even gaining 3rd place in Autocar’s Best Drivers Car in the Nomad’s year of release wearing 18” Yokohama A/T GO15’s.”
