Prometeon Tyre Group, Rockwell Automation commence manufacturing process collaboration

Under a multi-year collaboration, Rockwell Automation, Inc will implement its Manufacturing Execution System (MES) in Prometeon Tyre Group facilities in Italy, Türkiye, Egypt and Brazil. The industrial automation and digital transformation specialist explains that the goal of this program is to enhance the tyre maker’s digitalisation strategy, elevating manufacturing efficiency, sustainability and technological advancement.

MES will replace current systems and its implementation is expected to create a standardised, technologically advanced environment. According to Rockwell Automation, anticipated benefits include enhanced operational efficiency, improved labour utilisation, increased productivity and effectiveness, and reduced cost of quality and compliance.

Leading IIoT capabilities

The MES platform employs tailored templates designed for specific industries, while harnessing the foundational features of FactoryTalk ProductionCentre. Rockwell Automation highlights that its solution incorporates leading IIoT capabilities from PTC ThingWorx and Plex Quality Management System (QMS), offering customers a comprehensive solution for managing production operations.

This strategy marks a transition in operational paradigms, fostering a more interconnected system across global sites. Consequently, it facilitates enhanced production scheduling, more reliable quality assurance, and seamless integration of automation processes. Sustainability is also a key focus, with both companies committed to improving operational efficiency and reducing environmental impact.
