Prinx Chengshan debuts OTR mining tyre range

In addition to manufacturing truck and passenger vehicle tyres – the former sold in the UK under the Fortune brand name and the latter as Fortune and Prinx tyres – Prinx Chengshan is staking its claim in the off-highway segment. So far, the company has restricted its activities in this area to China, where it has introduced OTR tyres for wide-body mining vehicles, smooth tyres for underground applications, and on-road mining crane tyres. It recently added to this portfolio with two further tyres for wide-body mining vehicles, the ET06 and ET07 in size 16.00R25.
Reporting on the range it is rolling out, Prinx Chengshan speaks of leveraging its technological strength to innovate in the areas of sidewall design, compounding and tyre construction. The result, says the tyre maker, is an OTR tyre that “has been tested to be ten per cent stronger and more durable than similar products.” Prinx Chengshan adds that its production facilities in China and Thailand employ “strict control” at all times, from raw materials to finished products.
In addition to mining tyres, Prinx Chengshan has expressed an ambition to produce tyres for other off-highway applications. It intends to launch “competitive high-performance products” such as loader tyres, giant tyres for large rigid trucks, and port/harbour tyres. Agricultural radials will also join the product portfolio at a later date.
