Goodyear tyres OE on Citroën ë-C3

Introducing its ë-C3, Citroën invites us to “forget everything” we know about electric cars as this new model “challenges the rulebook” for European-designed and built B-segment vehicles. Citroën intends to debut the fourth generation C3 in the UK late in 2024, and may deliver cars with Goodyear tyres as standard. Citroën has selected the Goodyear EfficientGrip Performance 2 as an original equipment tyre for the new model.
Goodyear doesn’t specify which dimensions it is supplying for fitment on the Citroën ë-C3, but promotional images show the car equipped with 225/50R17 tyres. Other versions of the ë-C3 ride on 205/55R16 tyres.
Announcing its supply to the Citroën ë-C3, Goodyear says “this original equipment partnership perfectly aligns with the recent introduction of Goodyear’s ‘Ready for EV’ strategy.” As part of this strategy, Goodyear is applying two new sidewall logos to all EV and PHEV original equipment fitments, as seen on the ë-C3. These labels, known as Electric Drive Technology (EDT) and Electric Drive Ready (EDR), indicate the incorporation of a tailored set of technologies to cater for the specific and unique features of an electrified vehicle, such as combination of high load capacity, handling, and noise reduction.
“Goodyear is delighted to have been chosen by Citroën to equip the new ë-C3. Our EfficientGrip Performance 2 offers a summer solution that perfectly complements the ë-C3’s modern electric capabilities, showcasing our commitment to delivering innovative solutions for electric vehicles and the future of electric mobility,” says Johannes Moll, managing director Consumer OE, Goodyear EMEA.
