Giti Tire boosts GitiSportS2 ‘Powered by Sparco’ range in Europe

New ultra-high performance tyre carries slogan on the sidewall of its low sidewall ratio fitments signifying collaboration with leading motorsport safety equipment brand

Giti Tire has increased the available “Powered by Sparco” fitments of its GitiSportS2 ultra-high performance tyre in Europe, adding 22 new dimensions to the existing eight. This version of the tyre, which targets sports cars and premium SUVs with low ratio sizes between 225/45R17 and 315/30R22. All sizes are rated A for wet grip and the majority are speed-rated Y. In total, the GitiSportS2 is now available in 63 sizes with rims from 16-22”, section widths from 195-315, series sizes from 30-55, including SUV, and speed indices from V-Y.

The 22 dimensions of the tyre that carry the sidewall inscription ‘Giti – Powered by Sparco’ are part of Giti’s co-branding agreement with global automotive tyre partner Sparco, the world’s leading manufacturer of motorsport safety systems and racing equipment. Launching the deal in March 2023, Giti said the collaboration is “based upon the companies’ shared philosophies and values of racing, performance, research and development and continuous safety.”

Designed using AdvanZtech, the Giti Tire’s globally-integrated, company-wide R&D system, the GitiSportS2’s compound offers particularly high levels of grip, resulting in its A-grade wet grip and strong safety characteristics. Meanwhile rolling resistance is rated between B and E on the European label. Further design features include four or five longitudinal grooves, dependent on tyre size, for exceptional water drainage; micro-sipes in the contact area for additional suction and grip effect and an optimised pattern block geometry and pitch for low noise and driving comfort.

The GitiSportS2 was designed and engineered at Giti Tire’s European Research & Development Centre in Hannover, Germany with testing at the company’s MIRA facility in the UK as well as key locations in Germany and Spain.
