Davanti brand boasts “some of the most researched” SUV tyres out there

Recent analysis from Transport & Environment found that SUV sales in the UK have increased consistently over the last few years. Indeed, in 2023 60 per cent of new car registrations were SUVs, but what does that mean for the tyre industry? The shift in car manufacturing and consumer trends means there is an increase in demand for 4×4 and SUV tyres, which offer motorists reliability and safety, as well as the performance to tackle difficult terrains.
For its part, Davanti boasts “some of the most researched and tested tyres in the market”, including the Terratoura A/T, an SUV tyre designed to tackle extreme conditions and deliver reliable handling wherever a motorist may be. The tyre was created after years of research and testing in locations, including IDIADA in Spain and UTAC in the UK and Finland.
“We are really proud of the work which has gone into the Terratoura A/T. After demanding testing and years of development, it gives those with 4x4s a high-performing tyre ready for all conditions,” commented Sean Maddocks, Davanti Tyres’ UK and Ireland sales director.
Utilising the Terratoura A/T’s performance, off-road rally legend, Edd Cobley, competed with them in the 2021 British Cross-Country Championships, coming first in his class. Not only that, but the Terratoura A/T recently achieved a top 10 position in a ranking of the best all-terrain tyres by Land Rover Monthly. Its list of accomplishments is extensive, also earning the Three Peak Mountain Snowflake (3PMSF) certification for performance in wintry conditions.
Official achievements aside, it reportedly offers “reliable handling whatever the terrain”, thanks to design attributes including: A five rib A/T pattern design, which provides performance both on and off-road; enhanced tread compounds for the durability required for off-road endurance, while providing grip in cold and wet conditions; tread support bars, which are specially constructed for on-road performance and low noise; and two longitudinal grooves running the circumference of the tyre, for water evacuation and wet performance.
Sean Maddocks, Davanti Tyres’ UK and Ireland sales director added: “While not all 4×4 owners are looking for the ability to off-road, the on-road performance is just as great as the rest of the Davanti family, offering a comfortable, low noise, efficient ride when travelling from the highway to the hills.”
