Xingda reveals its plans to recycle scrap tyre cord

Liu Jinlan, chairman of the board of directors of Xingda Steel Cord, said that he is prepared to continue to expand production in the next seven years. Specifically, the company plans to have an annual production capacity of steel cord and various steel wire products reaching 2.33 million tons by 2030, with revenue exceeding 20 billion yuan.
In contrast to this data, Xingda produced 1.299 million tons of steel cords and other steel wire products in 2023, with a revenue of 12.54 billion yuan. In other words, the company plans to increase output by nearly 80 per cent year-on-year and revenue by 60 per cent in seven years.
At the same time, Xingda said it will continue to promote digital technology. By 2030, the automation rate of its production factory will reach more than 80 per cent, and the number of employees per 10,000 tons will be less than 40, striving to become the first digital black light factory in the global industry.
In addition, Liu Jinlan also revealed Xingda’s ambitions for innovative development and promoting low-carbon transformation. It is worth noting that the entrepreneur specifically mentioned that he will make every effort to achieve “waste tyre wire recycling” by 2030.
By the same year, Xingda hopes that the number of high-performance, high-value-added steel cord products will reach more than 60 per cent of total sales; energy consumption per unit product and carbon emissions per unit product will decrease by 26 per cent and 42 per cent compared with 2020.
