Continental adds new functionality to Tire Tech app

The Continental TireTech app serves as a valuable tool for fleet managers, drivers, retailers, and tyre workshops wishing to optimise tyre performance and enhance fleet efficiency. The app addresses the cost-conscious nature of today’s tyre industry by focusing on two critical areas: ensuring vehicles are equipped with the correct tyres and the consistent maintenance of optimal tyre pressure. Continental has now added extra functions to the app that broaden its appeal.

Added to which, we have broadened the user group to include the van and camper segments.”

Expanded TBR & van features

The updated TireTech app introduces several new features tailored for truck and bus tyres, including access to current winter tyre recommendations for 39 countries. Additionally, the app now offers tyre diagnosis capabilities, identifying changes and anomalies in truck and bus tyres and providing relevant recommendations to enhance tyre service life, safety, and fuel efficiency. Furthermore, a new module for regrooving tyres assists workshops in finding appropriate regrooving patterns for Continental’s commercial vehicle tyres, alongside other useful information.

Continental has also expanded the app’s reach to include the burgeoning van and camper van tyre segments. Users can now access technical tyre information and utilise the tyre inflation pressure calculator to determine optimal pressure based on axle load and tyre size. Moreover, recognising the need for tyre information in areas with limited network coverage, Continental has improved the app’s functionality for offline use, allowing users to download necessary data onto their smartphones for seamless operation without an internet connection.

An app for professionals

Retailers, fleet managers, professional drivers and technicians can download the free Continental TireTech app for iOS and Android, with Content available in 20 languages. Existing features include an integrated Pressure-Load Calculator to determine the correct pressures for each tyre, based on axle load and tyre size. A further function is the technical tyre database and library of supporting images. A contact form completes the service app’s offering, enabling customers to reach out to Continental’s technical service team.
