Brenno Benaglia, a pillar of the retreading business, has passed away

After a brief illness, Brenno Benaglia, former sales director of Marangoni Pneumatici and a well-known leader in the world of retreading and tyres in general, passed away on 24 February.
Born in Bologna in 1952, after initial experience in the family-owned retreading company in 1978, he joined the Marangoni group. First he was sales manager and then sales and marketing director of the Feltre-based company Renova Reifen until 1990. Later, in 1991, he moved to Rovereto as sales and marketing director of Marangoni, a role he held until his retirement in 2017.
Benaglia also served as vice president of the Italian Tyre Retreaders Association and vice president and then president of Bipaver, the European Tyre Retreaders Association. He was also awarded the Star of Labour Merit in 2009.
After retirement he was technical advisor for both Airp and Bipaver.
Marangoni president, Vittorio Marangoni, gave this tribute: “as Marangoni we want to express our condolences to Brenno’s family, both as a company and as executives. Brenno was a pillar of our company, of retreading and of the tyre industry in general. He is part of Marangoni’s history, indeed, he made history for us. He was an example, a teacher for our entire generation, and an institution until the very end with his positions in Bipaver and Airp, constantly at the disposal of our industry. We are truly shaken by this sad news.”
