BMW chooses Vredestein Ultrac for X2 & 5 Series

The BMW Group has selected Vredestein Ultrac summer tyres as original equipment for its BMW X2 and 5 Series models. It is also extending an existing supply agreement for the BMW X1 to encompass an additional Ultrac size option.
The agreement with Apollo Tyres, which owns the Vredestein product brand, means that BMW will fit the supplied Ultrac tyres to vehicles in size 225/55 R18 102 Y XL at its plants in Germany. This is the latest agreement between the BMW Group and Apollo Tyres, following the OE fitment of the Vredestein Ultrac for the X1 (205/65 R17 100Y XL), and in three sizes (205/65R16 95W, 205/60R17 97W XL and 225/50R18 99W XL) for the BMW 2 Series Active Tourer.
To further support BMW customers throughout ownership, Ultrac tyres are available on the replacement market as well as via franchised dealers of the BMW Group.
Produced at its Gyöngyöshalász plant in Hungary, Apollo Tyres says the Vredestein Ultrac “offers impressive levels of grip and rolling resistance,” having been developed to “facilitate safe and enjoyable driving in both the wet and dry.” The tyre achieves an EU tyre label ‘A’ rating in the wet grip category, satisfying the BMW Group’s focus on safety and performance.
“Our R&D team has worked tirelessly to design and develop our Ultrac range to deliver high levels of performance, durability and safety, in a package that is suitable for a wide range of vehicles,” says Benoit Rivallant, Apollo Tyres’ president Europe. “We are proud to add the BMW X2 and 5 Series to our growing list of vehicles fitted with Ultrac tyres as standard.”
